I store mine wet , but that's it . Nothing special , no baking soda . I just take them out of the bucket , rinse , then load them on the horn .
Stainless tube works the best for me ,
I make sure I don't overload it . Stored wet they're ready to go .
I keep the mass slid forward on the tube...
I found out ,,, No .
I avoided them for a long time because of all the opinions . Got some and they worked fine .
My rule is if you can't get it loaded on the horn in 3 tries , grab a different one .
I just did a bunch a couple weeks ago . Just take your time .
Ever look at a Weber go anywhere ? Nice little grills that come in charcoal or propane .
The legs lock the lid down for travel . They're around 100 bucks .
I figured you did , but the way I read .,
Sounded to me like you were leaving the casing on the tube and putting that on the horn .
Never mind , I should have not said anything .
Looks great . Nice white fat is a tell in my opinion .
I know it might seem like a mis use , but that coppa is fantastic on pizza .
Nice work and thanks for the follow up .
Yup . That's why you take 5 minutes and go look . Nice score .
I never owned one , but a couple of my buddies used to buy the Willy's at surplus for around $100 . Even stock they go just about anywhere .
I remember seeing a picture of the gate in a thread about racoons or cats ? Getting in your yard .
Maybe look for a gate support wheel . Surface mounts to the leaf at the strike . Helps support the weight . Then you can repair the hole with some wood and a high low screw .
That sucks . Never had an auger jam in the Smokefire . Drop auger style , and it runs the auger in reverse to empty out the auger at shutdown .
Had the fire pot overfill 3 times , and smoke out the hopper once . Can be pretty dangerous , and cause a heck of a fire .
They all do it .
