I have an 18.5 & a miniWSM.... I like them both but tend to use the mini more often ! I have to agree with Woody, build ya a mini & look on CL for a deal on a bigger one if ya need it ! Usually minibuilds are $100 at most !
I'm from So. Il., love to smoke. Have been smokin' on a converted, ex-gasser that I rehabbed for tailgating a few years ago (I'll attach pics). Currently building a miniWSM, I'll post later. I got my ideas from this site, much thanks to several members, that posted on the build threads. Always...

Hi!
Ive been longing to build my miniWSM for a while now. Since the pot used by others isn't available in sweden i decided to get mine done in a garage. Its a 0,5 m tall. Any ways, here are some pics of the build and the seasoning smoke.
I like your build. The only thing I think that might give you some grief is the exhaust. I would probably add another 3/4" hole. Keep in mind that your exhausts are always open when cooking and you control the heat with the lower vents. I would not weld the barrels together unless you are...
Well let me tell you my story. Okay it's too long, but similar to yours. I smoked for many years on and still do with a gas smoker but missed that charcoal and wood flavor. So I built a Mini-WSM. First be years later I have 5 of them! Great little smokers. I recently bought a 18.5 " WSM of...
Yeah, that is one excuse i am using on my lady to let me build a 55 gal uds because to to make a full packer in my 14.5 i would have to cut it up and it still may not fit But... if you wanted to have both a small smoker and a big one you could build a WSMmini (simular in size to a 14.5 wsm) out...
I am fairly new to smoking and have my Step Dad’s old electric Brinkman Gourmet Smoker that is rusting out. So I am in the market for a new smoker. Leaning towards a WSM 22.5 but haven’t made up my mind yet.
In the meantime, I posted to a neighborhood group looking for a used Weber Smokey Joe...
Sure are. Just look in the miniWSMbuild section on this forum. I closely copied BDSkelly's build and found it very easy and fun to do.

This is also true, but you won't have the satisfaction from...
I bet you can find a WSM on Craigslist for half of what it would cost brand new! Then you'll have money to get a kettle and build yourself a mini-WSM as well...
If I may... You say your going to order a Maverick ET-72 ? I hope that was in error and you meant the ET-732 ...For a couple dollars more you can get the 732 which has 2 probes... I prefer the 732 over the new model 733 ... much user friendly... The only con for the 732 is the probes.. The...
^^^^^ Yeah that ^^^^^
Weber is the way to go! You can even build yourself a mini-WSM for everyday cooks and get a 22.5 WSM when you are cooking for a crowd!
Hey all, as stated above built a miniWSM with my kiddos... This was a kick in the pants to do.... May have taken them a lot less time if I wasn't in the way !!
Before the build, gotta give a shout out to Adam (c farmer) , Case (Dirtsailor2003) & Keith (FWISmoker) ! Thanks for your input &...
I have a few smokers, a couple being a WSM 18.5" & I also built a miniWSM.... I like my 18.5" a bunch & the miniWSM has been a great addition as well... Let me ask how many folks you'd generally be cooking for ? If a pretty good bunch, you may wanna go with the 18.5". That being said, if...
Planning a build for my first MiniWSM (first smoker altogether as well) and I see many builds that have a secondary cooking grate just over the terra cotta piece or whatever material they're using as an insert. My question being, does any food placed on this rack cook properly or does the...
I've looked at the Cajun Bandit Stackers before and was really thinking of ordering one for the Weber Performer, but I have a Weber Gasser which was a X-mas present so I have to keep it plus the Performer and WSM, I want to free up some space so the Assassin Grill will replace both the WSM and...
