Ha Ha , thanks Ryan . I could follow but not sure if they sell enough grinder wheels around here to clean up my pretty welding work.
Maybe I will fab a few out of wood. It could be a one time smoker/cook type of deal. LOL

After further testing today, it looks like there is a breach in the integrity of the control box, which is supposed to be sealed and water tight. I am getting condensation in the control box. Apparently moisture builds up easily inside.
Thank you sir! I will read through the tutorial on design of reverse flow smokerbuilds. I'm sort of leaning towards a vertical baffle offset. (I know nothing but this seemed like a simpler build than a Reverse Flow ... I used to own an old style Klose offset (no tuning plates ... just a...
I found this forum about 10 months ago when I was researching an electric smokehouse build that's percolating in the back of my mind. That project is still percolating, but I've already gleaned a bunch of great info from many members here who have shared their builds and knowledge.
I've been...
Now Ryan - if I wanted my wife to know I had more time for her chores, I'd tell her myself! And you can trust me when I tell ya that she's a cure for a swelled head...she seems to have the knack of making certain I don't get too full of myself :emoji_laughing:
I really appreciate it Tom! I...
I save a good pile of roasted peeled chilies and then I lightly season them and on to the smoker as low as you can run it or just use the pellet tube. It doesn’t take much time maybe 30-45 minutes in smoke, then dehydrate. Break them up or gently run them through spice grinder for a course...
I think I joined years ago but found my log in and password were still current, so here I go!
I'm looking to build a smoker from an old boxstove I have and I have some very basic questions.
Is there a sub forum just devoted to home builds and questions about such things?
Thanks for helping me...
Brian, those dried chili's sound great, Trader Joe's out here sells dehydrated lightly smoked Hatch chili in a shaker, it's really good, and only cost about $4.00, I buy 4 to 6 bottles at a time.
Man, that table chili sounds Kill'er!!!
I could have used some this morning, I made huevos ranchers...
I have read through several build threads (havent made it through that many, maybe ten) and was wondering why nobody uses galvanized metal studs in their builds for a warm/cold smoker. I agree if it is a hot smoker ≥ 200° should probably not chance it. I read it has potential to off gas but as a...
...now live in the Philippines. Smoking meat American style is non existent here, although, it's beginning to catch on and some commercial smokerbuilds are available in Luzon. I however live in the central Philippines (Guimaras) I will add anything of metal here won't last long.
The U.S. dollar...
Hello Nefarious! I appreciate Jim referring me to your question, and I'll help any way I can...but really I'm just an amateur with a few builds under my belt...so I'm certainly not professional lol!
So my experience is, it's not a problem to make the FB larger than the calculators call for...
...time, I would guess.
Any of you guys done this before? I'm looking to get into doing some painting to increase the marketability of my smokerbuilds, and want to do a good job. Not looking to do a $10,000 show car paintjob, but I would like to make things look nice and be able to do some...
