I think there’s a 4 minute lapse between the should I post and I just did it post. Congratulations. Hope it’s all good.
Lava lock the lid, you would have a bit of a problem dripping grease or water or whatever on the lava lock if it’s on the lid.
Can you get parts for it? Do you want WiFi and application control? You may sink $500+ just getting it to bare minimum, but stuff is still possibly over a decade old. Then a fan, then an auger, etc. Or use it as is until it dies, while saving for something fancy - that could be a smart move too...
They look good. I always “popped “ mine in the air fryer, they’ll crisp back up. Are they greasy somehow? Can’t imagine after the boil but that’s all I can think of.
I buy my skins done already for pork rinds, fresh skins I cook down into cracklins.
I searched silicon nitride igniter and there’s a decent list. GMG, Pitt boss, traeger, Pitts and Spits.
The GMG one seems to match your description of a hollow tube. Search Amazon for P-1158-GPFL.
Tough crowd, but I’ll add that I’m bouncing between The Recruit and S.O.A. - I guess both are ridiculous situations, but would you want to watch your realistic life on tv? They’re fun, tonight I’m watching McGregor(UFC).
I know you’re gonna like this… there’s no set recipe… I take a pound of ground beef in a ziplock and pound it flat. Cut away the ziplock and do the same thing with breakfast sausage. Stack one on the other, now layer in some cheese, veggies, eggs, anything you want. Roll it up into a log...
As a former carny- I just want everyone to know the vendors charge big because it’s pay to play at these events. You could be out thousands just for showing up, then inventory, supplies, insurance, maybe lodging. It all adds up really quick. Out of a Friday, Saturday, Sunday event, you spend...
You’ve probably already got it on the smoker, next time consider a fatty. That takes care of your meatloaf and scotch eggs craving in one go. They’re fun and if you get a little fancy with them it’s carousel worthy pics.
I’m on my first “real” offset, and to keep it BLACK I’m out on the patio with a wire cup and linseed oil pretty often. Is it like a new car and I’ll stop caring after a while or should I got all out and sandblast the thing. I know the firebox won’t hold, it’s either constant attention or just...
For the less experienced (me), I'd like this explained more in depth. Clean piece of meat, fully cured, never left whatever container it was in, never left the fridge. Is it bad, or more likely just not good?
To all the unpluggers here, not picking a fight but do you unplug all your indoor appliances as well? Of all the things I have owned over all these years, the one thing that almost took us out was a coffee maker. It just decided to spontaneously combust. Sent a pic of the melted unit, got a free...
Just maybe trying to help, when my igniter is causing the issue I can unplug that wire from the control panel and everything is fine. I just start it with a torch and all other functions are fine. Not sure if yours would act the same way.
I had an “avocado “ lasted 10-15 years. It was $400 new from Menard’s, they only sold it that one year. Never got around to upgrading to a real egg.
Congratulations on your purchase.
Once upon a time my Recteq had a remote start option. Unplugging it negates that luxury. It’s still there, just need to use the tuya app instead of the Recteq app.
Yeah I’ve got a little of that mouth watering thing going on looking at your plate. Definitely going to try the street corn deviled eggs. Congrats on the carousel!
