*****Sold*****Yoder YS1500 Wood Pellet Smoker for sale. I purchased this unit new in Oct 2014 and it is in very good condition, everything works and only a couple of spots of light surface rust on the body (cooking grates are rust free). If you are not familiar with these smokers, they are made...
...disappointed early on if they didn't do their homework up front. David's (@sandyut ) comment is spot on and I agree that the top 3 being MAK, Yoder and Rec Teq are worth looking at if the wallet allows. They have the features, durability and consistently perform. If I were in the market...
...a rack for 8 hours. Sprayed with avacado oil and sprinkled on kosmos buffalo hot wing rub right before cooking. Smoked at 225 for 30 min in the yoder and then 275 for around an hour til IT of 185. Turned and rotated halfway through. Sauced half of them and left remainder dry. Turned out...
...thin layers of Killer Hogs AP rub, followed with a thin layer of Heath Riles Honey rub, with a nice thin pass of Killer Hogs BBQ rub. Into the Yoder set @ 230° with 100% Hickory & Cherry pellets. Roll smoke for about 4 hours
after the 4 hour mark I decided to do a wrap in foil with unsalted...
...Raalte Netherlands and Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht Netherlands. Also have a coming of days of festivals in Bergen Norway where I saw a pretty Yoder sitting in a spot with a spectacular view. Yoder and we had to take a gondola up to it, no roads. Coming up next is 2 nights of an artist I...
...in fridge all day and then coated with steak rub. Cut the tails down middle and a T at the end. Added salt pepper and paprika. Heated the yoder to 350 with deflector out and grill grates in and the second shelf in. Put the steaks on the grates and tails on top.
Turned halfway
Basted the...

...He moved to KC to open a barbecue joint with a partner there.
But his brother Roger continued to build the Oklahoma Joe smoker under the Horizon brand.
Also, Joes shop manager, moved up the road to Wichita and began building Yoder smokers. Which were almost identical to Oklahoma Joes.
...They are just down the road from me. They had some struggles and moved locations but they are still there in Grand Junction, Co. I bought my Yoder from them back in ‘17 after that their Yoder dealership was stripped, went to ATQ (all things bbq) in Denver. Was total bs by the way but that’s...
...at what he charged for the work. He did great work a couple years ago in front yard. Bunch stuff i didnt like this go round.
Fired up the yoder around noon. Put ribs on at one. Was originally just going to make two slabs. Good thing I cooked em all. Daughter had a girl friend over to craft...
...sometimes this doesn't happen until it get to 180. once the fat cap is squishy, i'll wrap it in paper and add a little tallow (kudos to Jeremy Yoder for that tip), and put it back on till it probes tender - usually this happens about 190 or so - if ever i pull it at over 200 it is always...
...in the weeds. I just want to have a ballpark idea what other smokers are doing - at a consistent temperature Franklin puts out air at X mph, a Yoder does X mph, an Old Country does X mph... I can look at the specs of each and surmise why one might have a higher or lower mph depending on the...
I do not have a Yoder but do have a pellet grilll. I suggest you do a shorter cook like a chuck roast to get your feet wet. Air flow is lower than a wood burner. Temperature profile is different.
Stay with good quality pellets. Smokey Woods, Lumberjack, and Smokey Moutain to name a few...
Hey man I'm a fellow Yoder owner. I've had a YS640 since 2017 and I've used the dog snot out of mine. I believe that 480 is 20" long, plenty big enough to hold a good size brisket and with an upper rack it would hold a couple racks of ribs or numerous other tasty treats as well. Not sure what...
...smoker overall. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience — this definitely helps me make a more informed decision.
I had a Yoder YS-640 for a while — great build quality, but I ran into a few issues. The ignitor started acting up and eventually began tripping my breaker. In...
