...tool burner. Ive searched on here for some details with no luck.
I would like to know how you guys have hooked up your propane with a needlevalve outside of the smoker, and a thermocouple? I have 0 experience with propane besides firing up the grill and I obviously want to be as safe as...
...to force the smoke and heat to spread out. Previously, the heat and smoke traveled straight up the back wall and out that back vent.
A needlevalve is a must have addition. I can get down to 150-170 without a fuss. Installing a gasket will also help a lot to maintain consistent temps...
Yea the needlevalve is on the list too. There a good write up to add that in? You have pics of yours? Is it as simple as just splicing in a needlevalve with some hose clamps?
I was thinking of using a smoke generator to keep from having to deal with the wood chips in a pan but I haven’t decided yet. Thoughts about a fan to circulate the heat and keep it more consistent temp throughout the smoker?
Yes the needlevalve makes it much easier to regulate the temp now. I am not running back and forth to the shack to adjust

ps: just noticed your other post about your hobbies very nice bike build
...I am still rather new to smoking
Have an older masterbuilt smoker and have always had trouble getting temp down to 225. I have placed needlevalve in the line which helped some. Planning on changing the regulator and would appreciate advise on required pressure. Any other suggestions more...
I think my best mod other than the needlevalve would have to be the " Smokers Shack " i love just walking in there as it smells amazing just like going into a BBQ joint down south .
I'm adding things inside the more i use it and see how and where i like things while i smoke items.

So I have tried to blow everything out with no luck. Has anyone ever taken these things apart? I'm a little cautious as I'm not sure what all is inside of it.
the only thing this smoker needed was a needlevalve. once I added it, temp stability was unreal.
the factory valve did not give fine control on the flame.
I have used it at 5f temps.
it is actually that simple. the regulator puts out less than 1 psi so a clamp on a barbed valve works very well. I leave the control on the smoker full open and regulate the flame with the needlevalve only.
Craig, that's a great way to have the smoke travel up for cold smoking. As for the needlevalve you said you are going to add it to the end by the propane tank. You see where i added mine that way i don't have to go outside to play with it
...would work in my homemade wooden smoker. Seems like I’m missing some parts maybe, typically I have been only using a propane burner and needlevalve for controlling my heat. 20-24 hour smokes on summer sausage with southern temp swings 20 degrees I’m having to check it every hour night and...
...to the temperature. If I can lower the temperature the pressure should lower. I had the smoker running so I started closing the needlevalve. Sure enough, at around 160° smoke starts to come out of the new stack.
Once I figured this out, I want to see if there is enough smoke and I had...
campfirestu
Thanks campfirestu , for the like. I have added more to the Smokers Shack sense than. Heat shields even though I don't need them, but you never know. And i added a needlevalve to help regulate the temp in the smoker
David
I apologize, if you are going to use a regulator and needlevalve combination, @chadnicoletti is correct, use the low pressure version. I mounted mine on the smoker. Putting it on the tank is the easier way to go.
...read others have done, might be a better solution that might also help keep more stable temps at all levels of the vault.
I have a needlevalve on order and once that arrives I'll be doing some tests to see how this works out and will report back if anyone is interested.
Assuming this...
