    My build / Advice needed

...tool burner. Ive searched on here for some details with no luck. I would like to know how you guys have hooked up your propane with a needle valve outside of the smoker, and a thermocouple? I have 0 experience with propane besides firing up the grill and I obviously want to be as safe as...

    Masterbuilt 44 Mod Ideas

...to force the smoke and heat to spread out. Previously, the heat and smoke traveled straight up the back wall and out that back vent. A needle valve is a must have addition. I can get down to 150-170 without a fuss. Installing a gasket will also help a lot to maintain consistent temps...

    My propane smoker mods

Nice work. Yes my needle valve is on the hose at the end, near where it connects to the tank, but the hose is pretty short so,,,,, easy peasy.

    Insulating the Landman 38" wide

Yea the needle valve is on the list too. There a good write up to add that in? You have pics of yours? Is it as simple as just splicing in a needle valve with some hose clamps?

Commercial refrigerator build need help please

I was thinking of using a smoke generator to keep from having to deal with the wood chips in a pan but I haven’t decided yet. Thoughts about a fan to circulate the heat and keep it more consistent temp throughout the smoker?

I have not. I plan to give it good cleaning today as well as install a needle valve style regulator.

Added valves plus PID controller to propane smoker

it should work as long as you're using a low pressure regulator. you'd need everything in the first pic except the needle valve.

    My propane smoker mods

I think my best mod other than the needle valve would have to be the " Smokers Shack " i love just walking in there as it smells amazing just like going into a BBQ joint down south . I'm adding things inside the more i use it and see how and where i like things while i smoke items. David

So I have tried to blow everything out with no luck. Has anyone ever taken these things apart? I'm a little cautious as I'm not sure what all is inside of it.

    Insulating the Landman 38" wide

the only thing this smoker needed was a needle valve. once I added it, temp stability was unreal. the factory valve did not give fine control on the flame. I have used it at 5f temps.

    Insulating the Landman 38" wide

it is actually that simple. the regulator puts out less than 1 psi so a clamp on a barbed valve works very well. I leave the control on the smoker full open and regulate the flame with the needle valve only.

    My propane smoker mods

Craig, that's a great way to have the smoke travel up for cold smoking. As for the needle valve you said you are going to add it to the end by the propane tank. You see where i added mine that way i don't have to go outside to play with it

Added valves plus PID controller to propane smoker

...would work in my homemade wooden smoker. Smoke Vault gas smoker makeover

...to the temperature. If I can lower the temperature the pressure should lower. I had the smoker running so I started closing the needle valve. Sure enough, at around 160° smoke starts to come out of the new stack. Once I figured this out, I want to see if there is enough smoke and I had...

My new shack for my smoker

campfirestu Thanks campfirestu , for the like. I have added more to the Smokers Shack sense than. Heat shields even though I don't need them, but you never know. And i added a needle valve to help regulate the temp in the smoker David

I apologize, if you are going to use a regulator and needle valve combination, @chadnicoletti is correct, use the low pressure version. I mounted mine on the smoker. Putting it on the tank is the easier way to go.
