Awesome. Thank you. I've been slowly reading through this thread and a lot of my previous questions had already been answered - so, I'm sorry for that.
I setup the PID/wifi/app today. I'll test everything tomorrow. I wanted to wait until things were dry. I did an internal clean and pulled some...
...on this old thing I got for free. I've done the rewire, I'll be replacing the temp safety switch when that comes in the mail, I have an AuberPID ready to go, and I have a cold smoke generator.
Now, I'm wondering if/how I should modify the exhaust. Most I've seen come out the top and I've...
...because they were not built for oven/cooking applications but more for greenhouse, plant, and pet reptile heating purposes.
So again, an AuberPID (about $160 for the lowest option that will work) is your best option. Building a for the 1st time will run you more money than that in parts...
This is the first Mes 30 Gen 2.5 hybrid I saw on the HSN with colored doors with windows 6+ years ago. This started the new slanted top to the right chip burner roof that pushed heat to the right rear corner before going back left to the top left vent like the Gen 2.0 that did it with the slant...
I've been advised my circuit board needs replacing (MB130) but reading all about the PID options here. Struggling to find a source for an AuberPID in the UK - anyone had any success this side of the pond - or a replacement circuit board?
No problem. This thread is pretty big now so it's not easy to come in at any point and sort through the info. The initial post incorporates most of the necessary info but it may miss a small percentage of things needed or people just have questions. You are asking and getting things fixed...
Not really that familiar with Bradley but Auber makes PID specifically for them. IIRC they have smoke control (fan?) unlike the units for out MES.

So I followed the instructions and connected the #1 & #3 wires as well as the #2 & #4 wires. When I tried plugging into the AuberPID device I purchased it immediately blew the fuse in the Auber. I then plugged it directly into the wall and tripped the 15 amp circuit breaker. Could there be...
Please pardon my ignorance. . .When you say your Auber is adjusted, you are referring to a PID Contriller, Correct?
I haven't ordered mine yet but I like this technique.

...find anything online except a couple of hits on people with the same issue.
I would think it's time to do the simple rewire and go with an AuberPID controller.
Now it may suck to think "I will be spending $160 on a controller and that's almost as much as buying a new unit", BUT that is...
Hi there and welcome!
I'm all about the rewire of a Masterbuilt smoker (MES) to work with a PID controller.
I think US amazon may have some circuit boards these days and my guess is this would work for yours, but not sure. It lists model MB20077118 which is 1 digit off from yours and I...
Haha tragic story, I keep it on a cart and it fell victim to 60mph wind. Completely avoidable and dumb mistake. I'm getting an E1 error now. I contacted Bradley and they have the replacement components available if I want to start tearing into it. I picked it up used for $100 about 5 years ago...
I don't have the wifi model , but setting at the unit itself should be the same . So not sure if this helps , but thought I would link it . A lot of basic info here .

...some homework on Auber to learn the temperature probe is a thermister.
I wasn't clear in my first post.
I wasn't looking to replace the AuberPiD base, but source the thermister from another company.
I truly doubt Auber makes their own temp probes as many companies specialize in them.
The...
Humorous exchange with Auber Instruments. I just ordered the 1520 for my MES. I was looking for a way to protect the control unit. I'm wondering if anyone out there uses a smoker IN the house to protect the controller? I guess I could seal off a bathroom, and tell my family to use the health...
