...older thread. After I got new nutrients everything did fine. I am using a Digital Food pH Meter YINMIK and TDS Meter Digital Water Tester, INKBIRD. I am in process of doing a new start up. Just trying to figure the best way to do it. Would like to get new basil going before cutting down...
...that we are down to Porter Road and Thermoworks. I believe the rest have dropped out. Todd sold out long ago and retired I do believe. Inkbird dropped out when the tariffs were announced. It would be nice to get some more active sponsors and I don't think I would include the affiliates they...
They were about 10-12° less than my other Inkbird throughout the cook.
Understood, as I raised the RT temps to push it along, the separation got further and further from actual set temp. That was even after the stall so the evaporative cooling should have been complete.
Can't give it a whole...
Finally getting to play with my new inkbird thermometers and I’m kind of disappointed. Both are “wireless” which is nice however I’m kinda disappointed unless I’m doing something wrong. They are both suppose to have up to a 300’ range but if I have them outside my garage with it closed (maybe...
...sausage smoking, I use the Z-Grills as a chamber, but bypass the pellets. Instead, I run a Brinkmann heating element hooked up to an Inkbird temperature controller alongside a smoke tube. It’s the best way I've found to perfectly lock in those crucial 130°F–155°F windows without risking a...
...to far from the stock settings to get my MES 30 where I wanted it to be.There are a couple of threads about Auber settings here in the forums.
But I would say before dropping any money on a new Auber I'd try to troubleshoot your Inkbird first. I believe @JC in GB has experience with the...
I run a 4 probe inkbird bluetooth (non-wifi) when I bother to use it. I don't use it on cooks very often, anymore, though it works fine.
I also have their rechargeable instant read, which I use all the time. I really like it.
NICE! I have the older version of this same one. LOVE it. Used it last night to warm up some frozen smoked BB's...first time I did that. Worked good! Had to due to oven failure, but it was easy. Beef is my fav SV. I got the temp dialed in so my wife and daughter dont this its too rare...
If they are something like EZ Peel Shrimp, Id leave the shells on to hold the flavor next to the meat, otherwise, I say go for it and see how it turns out!
...a few years and about a year ago I started building a custom controller for my converted wine fridge to replace my cobbled together separate Inkbird units.
What I ended up with is a Raspberry Pi-based system that monitors temp and humidity via a BME280, tracks the weight of hanging product...
Boiling water and followed by ice water is my test. Water boils at 212 at sea level but decreases 2* per 1000’ of elevation climb. So check your current elevation and adjust from there. Ice water should settle at about 32* so I check both for high and low accuracy.
InkBird is a decent brand. They used to be a sponser here. And were offering good deals on their items. I've only had 2 items from them go bad so far. A vacuum sealer that wouldn't vacuum through the vacuum port. And a instant read that just failed. I left it outside overnight. And it rained...
