More Canadain bacon ala Bearcarver RIP

I just happened to run across this today. Bear taught me about all I know with smoking meats and such with my MES30 I was using several years back. He had some great recipes. I really miss that man.

    Troubleshooting a ceiling fan

Batteries in the remote would not stop the switch on the wall from working.

    Troubleshooting a ceiling fan

I would try a new switch anyway because the ones they make today are junk compared to the old ones. Also if you have a remote sensor in the fan, that may or may not be the problem.

    Found old knife

After some investigating it seems you have a rare knife that's worth a pretty penny. Looking on line I found it was made in Germany and believe me they make great knives. The one you have goes from approx $80 to over $100 at different sites. Just Google J.A. Henckels Twinworks 114-12 and you...

    Last Resting Place

A legend, yes. Bear taught me practically everything I know about my smoker and how to cook and smoke some of the best stuff I ever ate. Not only a legend but a great mentor as well. Won't be the same here without him :-(

    Last Resting Place

Bear, that looks like a most peaceful place, it's beautiful and reminds me of a place I used to go trout fishing in the North Georgia mountains. Save me a fishing spot my friend

    Holiday Meltaway Bump

Thanks Bear, I hadn't seen this until this morn. Jeff had it featured at the top of the forum page after checking a link from him in my email. I'm going to try them because I know they will be great :-) just like all your other recipes.

    Corned Beef Q

TNJAKE, I had a recipe that I really liked on making pastrami out of beef brisket. I have some plain jane beef brisket I got from Kroger's and am hunting for both ways to make pastrami out of it. Both wet brine and just using a rub. Since I see you are a fellow Tennesseean I wanted to ask you...

    Smoked pork butt

When I do my pork butts I follow Bears step by step procedures. I used hickory to smoke this time. Times and temperatures in Bears step by step also. As far as activities, did some yard work and seed prep for planting in my garden in a few weeks :-)

    Smoked pork butt

I cheated and showed this to Bearcarver first :-) Just getting around to posting. Prepared a couple of days ago in my MES 30. Was in the smoker 13 hours total. Before and after shots.
