I just updated Post #1 with people's sites!
Yearly Competition - We've tossed around the idea of something to replace the Rib Comp., any thoughts on changing to a "type of meat" competition (like anything Beef, Chicken or pork) or stick with our usual pork rib competition?
Let's do this! Darcy and Bill have reserved #30, same as last year. Miranda and I will set up tent there. Staying strong with the tent-game :)
Hopefully we can do Highland Hammock next year but Hardee is a good 2nd option.
I called HH and the girl told me to call back in August. Should we just go with Hardee Lakes and call it a day? Or we could make like Aug 5th the decision day.
Golf cart Shenanigans haha!
I'm calling HH tomorow (monday) again to see how the progress is on the updates. I agree with Keith, if HH doesnt have their $hit together we can go ahead and book Hardee.
Howdy all!
I just called HH and there was a young energetic ranger girl that gave me some info, quite a change from the usual employees there. She said the park is still closed for camping (open for day trips) but they are expecting to open the end of summer into early fall. She also told me...
I wouldnt mind going back to highland hammock but i also dont like waiting till the last minute to hear if they are open. If we do go back to Hardee, i think lakeside might be better. I was hoping for more people to give an opinion so we can make a group decision :)
Man, i cannot wait for...

Wow, what a great gathering! I think the majority of us agree that we do not want to go back to Hardee Alcatraz for another gathering but other then a pain in the @$$ park ranger, what a good time and scenic park!
I think this was one of our high turnout events we've had! Thank you to Jerry...
Yeah, alachua is under a burn ban. We got a little bit of rain yesterday AM but not enough. pray for the rain!
i'm planing to make a lemon, butter green been dish for Friday. Still working out my plans for cooking saturday. Miranda and I will both have a rack of ribs for the competition on Saturday
Alachua County has been under a fire ban for the last couple weeks, there is rain expected tomorrow so hopefully that is state-wide and get more up until the gathering.
I'll take a blackberry to slowly sip on over the next year or so :)
