    Decided to do a small turkey smoke. I injected with a reduction of apple juice and bacon drippings mixed with my spice rub. Stuffed with onions and apples. Wrapped with bacon and smoked over mesquite

    I modified mine with a large aluminum pan that has a lid. I drilled holes in the front and use a combination of charcoal and wood chunks. I het lots of smoke and a nice smoke ring

    Call Masterbuilt. They have an amazing troubleshooting team. But yes it is probably The heating element. Had the same thing happen to me. If the smoker is less than 2 years old they will send a new one for free. If it's older you can buy one from them for $30

    I soaked them overnight. But I should have soaked longer. I only got 3 hours of smoke out of the pan of chunks. They turned to coal too fast. I'll play around and get a balance.

    Thanks to your suggestions I made some modifications. Using a 9x13 cake pan with holes drilled into the lid for wood chunks on a cast iron grate.
