    soil for raised garden bed???

Yes, bending is why I went to raised beds. That is a valid point. That said, yes, tomatoes root deeply, tillers only till 8-12 inches deep. Believe me, the tomato plants' roots will burrow as deep as they need to, if given 8 inches of good loose soil. I've grown indeterminate heirlooms for...

    soil for raised garden bed???

First off, 24 inches deep is excessive. Here is what I did. Till the area before building the actual bed. Add in 8 inches of compost. Till together and build the bed around it. I used 8 inch cinder blocks. That way, I can grow herbs and such in the holes of the block. Block never needs...

Thanks for your concern. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I'd say. On my diet, meat isn't a detriment. SAUCE is the killer. So, I am constantly trying new ways to develop flavor in my proteins, without adding excess carbs. The sugars are easy, it's the onions, tomatoes and other...

Bone-In or No Bone? Pork Butt

I only buy Bone-in. I feel the bone helps flavor. But, my butts usually weigh 8-10 lbs. Also, look at Price per Pound. Many times, the PPP is lower if it is bone in. But, a blade bone doesn't weigh much. I'd buy what looked tasty to me.

    Low Carb Sauces and Rubs.

I thought some may benefit from low carb solutions to BBQ questions. Many people are Diabetic, Pre-Diabetic or Hyperglycemic. Some are also on Low Carb Weight Loss Plans. Others still, are struggling with Blood Pressure and need a Low Carb alternative. So, I'll post my Low Carb Teriyaki...

I do White sauce on Chicken. GHughes makes a 2 net gram sauce (2 tbsp.). Guy Fieri has a similar line of sauces.Leaves a dull finish. I make a Sugar Free Teriyaki that shines, and is delicious. NC Sauces are vinegar based and often are low carb. I use them whenever I can. My next endeavor...

My bad. I'll check with Ms. Tiny and see if she can get off work to go. If not, it may be just me.

'preciate it. My "recovery" is contingent on the BBQ I consume. If I can eat stellar Q, and lose weight, it's a win/win.

Thank you. Glad to be off them, too. Breathing 200% better. At my age, Oxygen is a definite plus.

Well, I have heard that God will not try us with more than we can bear, so I guess He knew when to stop. Hopefully smooth sailing for a while. Carbs, where BBQ is concerned, is derived from SUGARS, including honey, molasses, etc. I have found that Erythritol caramelizes, and tastes almost...

Thanks amigo. Well, I've lost 55 lbs. Doctor took me off BP Meds. Blood Sugar is within spec. Cholesterol at 160. Feel great. Maybe I AM on the back side of my luck issues. I hope so, anyway. If I could just perfect this Low Carb approach to Q. Working on it daily. I appreciate the welcome.
