I make at least one piece of pork loin every month on my Weber kettle rotisserie. Today's victim is a half loin rubbed with some Kickin' honey rub and Jeff's rub... nothing better than doing nothing all day, after a long day of killing my liver yesterday for turkey day!
Loin to 142°, tented...
I was looking for a side for my ribs tomorrow and saw a Good Eats rerun last week about collard greens. So of course I come to experts here first. I think I just found my side dish for tomorrow!!!
Any recommendations on brick wood-fired pizza ovens? Thinking about getting one soon.
There's a local hardscape place I want to check. Just figured I'd ask the experts here if anyone has a kit they'd recommend.
Thanks in advance!!
After enjoying the long weekend a little bit too much, figured today would be a lazy day to sit on the deck, enjoy the beautiful breeze, cook on the grill, and enjoy a few lower ABV beers...
Spinning a rack of BB's over a pan of homemade beans on the kettle. Have some pasta salad made up and...
Day late and a dollar short... Here's the finish pic! The power went out at some point last night so it threw a wrench in the works. But who cares... I spent the entire day babysitting my 8 month old niece... first the beer store, then Cabelas.... then home for good food and her 4 legged...
Update on the yardbird... hit 163° in the breast and that is what the other half likes... safe... no taste... dry as hell... but safe temps...
Ugh... what happened to the girl I met who ate deer heart???
My love-hate with the AMNPS continues... thought I had her primed to go: and hour at 275° to dry the pellets, outside burn = 15 minutes, good cigar cherry burning.... then... Put it in the box... no smoke, out in in 10 minutes.
Take 2....
Addition to the menu tonight... spinning a whole yardbird on the kettle because the better half needs rotisserie chicken for something tomorrow and I needed something to make the air smell good until I start the pork. I love this kettle!!!!
Did some dirt work for my mom's neighbor a while ago. I didn't want any payment because the machine was already there so it didn't cost me anything but some fuel and time. Anyway... she knows I like to cook and knows I love beer (LOL) so she dropped off some pork and beer at my mom's for me...
Great stuff and stories from all the responses. I'm lucky enough to have Big Diamond speedway ("Racing in God's Country") almost in my back yard.
Was just a Williams Grove for the WoO's show a couple weeks ago. Love the races... Love them even more with a free admission!
