    New purchase Louisiana SL 1000

I just picked up from Costco the Louisiana SL 1000. I've had a Brinkmann Trailmaster Pro for the last 10+ years. With Brinkmann going out of business and lack of available parts, I decided to make the switch. Costco had a great deal $499 through last weekend. It arrived yesterday and setup...

Brinkmann Trailmaster LE - firebox rebuild

In search of suggestions on getting the firebox of my Brinkmann rebuilt. Over the years, certain areas has metal worn thin. Has anyone had the firebox rebuilt on their offset smoker? Grateful for any suggestions.

    Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited Edition

I have had some luck with this site.  They have limited parts, but some are still available.  Good luck, https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/brands/brinkmann/855-6305-s.html

    Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited Edition

Don, Thank you for your reply.  I will try the metal sand paper down to bare metal, which should be a better solution than what I was doing.  I'll let you know how it works, Best, Greg

    Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited Edition

Re-Painting my Trailmaster My Trailmaster LE is about 3 years old now. I keep it covered when not in use, but still some signs of rust has pitted through mostly in the firebox area.  I have rubbed these areas with steel wool and used a can of high temp spray paint which has worked ok.  Seeing...

    Bison roast

A good friend an avid hunter gave me a bison hump roast that I want to smoke this weekend. I was going to approach like a beef roast, but thought I'd check in to see if anyone has experience with this type/cut of meat. Thank you in advance for your guidance. Sent from my cm_tenderloin...

    Standing Rib Roast

I picked up a 5lb rib roast for Easter dinner.  Read most of the posts on internal temp, but I'm trying to get a rough idea on timing so I know when to start the process, don't want to be eating at 3:00 in the afternoon.  Am I planning for 30 min per lb or 45 min per? I want to pull at 135 it...

Neighbor got a Brinkman Trailbalzer for Xmas...not going so well..advice?

I picked up 2 sheets of expanded metal at Home Depot, they're smaller than 4x8. I had to cut the height to make sure the firebox door would close, then bent into L shape.  I then had a friend tack weld together making the box.  Works really well for long smokes,

Piney, The firebox has a couple grates that can be used for small grilling needs, 4-6 pieces chicken or steaks.  I use mine for that on occasion.  Although the manual says you can grill in the main cooking chamber, I don't because I don't want the ash in the smoking chamber.  I may this year...

    Smoked Pork Loin - Qview

I had 1/2 of a pork loin I was saving to smoke, about 3 1/2 lbs.  I placed in a brine for 2-3 hours, then seasoned with Jeff's dry rub for another 3 hours.  To keep the moisture in, I wrapped the exposed meat areas with a bacon weave, the bottom had a decent fat cap I left on.  I smoked at 235*...
