hi i just brought home a half of a cherry tree that broke off at the neighbors yard. I cut up the good wood to get it seasoning over winter. I have a ton of the thin end pieces twigs, small branches etc. left from the tree. I hate to waste them by just throwing them out. Can i run them thru...
Hey guys i have a half of a cherry tree that i got from the neighbor. I have a ton of twigs and branches left over. I was thinking of sending them thru a wood chipper and hanging them to dry over winter in mesh onion bags over winter. They are pretty green now. Is this a good idea to use for...
For wood chips i fill up a mesh onion bag and hang the chips from the shed rafters for at least 6 months The drier the wood chips, the better smoke they will produce!
I was able to sneak out of work early today so I got the new smoker seasoned tonight I greased the inside down with crisco and lit a fire in it for about 2 hrs tonight. I just ran nice dry oak through the fire box tonight. let it get nice and warm and i even got to play around with the door...
Finally got the smoker, had some issues with Walmart. Man they are horrible to work with. When I received their shipment the smoker was all damaged, dented and scratched, box was crushed and in terrible condition. I was not paying top dollar for a piece of junk! Then they didn't want to...
The smoker is being shipped yet so I have not received it yet, I am in eager anticipation of getting my new toy! Cannot wait to get this thing in acton and start using it! Hopefully it will be here by next week.
Hi guys,
I've been lurking around here on and off for the past couple years. I have owned a green mountain pellet grill for nearly 4 years and I absolutely love my pellet grill. Have produced a ton of good meat on the pellet grill. However, it is now time to step my game up a notch. I just...
what i highly recommend is to get yourself a good digital meat thermometer. i have found minor temp variation as well when cooking. i cook to the desired internal temp of the meat and dont really worry as much about the temp of the grates. I also like having the second meat probe so i can...
Congratulations!!! You will love it! I personally dont think you need to line the bottom with bricks. It will make cleaning out the ash more difficult. I just use a shop vac to clean out the ash. The grill maintains temp easily without the bricks. Also there is no need for a water pan...
Golfer i dont think you can get the Jim bowie gmg for under $1000, but i do know you should be able to get the daniel boone with a remote control. For me i find the daniel boone to be plenty sufficient as far as cooking space goes. Good luck!
Golfer, I think there is an accesory shelf you can get to fit inside the jim bowie too. I have one for my daniel boone and i am sure they have one for the jim bowie too. it works awesome in my grill! Ask the dealer about it. I also have the remote control on my daniel boone! Trust me its...
look at the green mountain grill daniel boone! its not much more than the treager and the temp control is second to none!! You will not be disappointed! The grill is awesome, and in my opinion it is much better than the traeger. You will not be disappointed!
