Pit Boss claims the P setting does control the pellet drop cycle at temp settings other than "smoke", the the effect diminishes as you go up in temperature. I can tell you from experience that the P setting has significant effect at 200 and 225 degrees.
Been a few years since I been on here - new house and new job kept me very busy - no time to dedicate to BBQ, but in all honesty ‐ frustration with my 700 series PB pellet grill is also to blame. Sine I got it (in 2018), I was never able to get it to hold temperature. Swings of -50 to +75...
I was under the impression that a cleaner smoke (TBS) is produced at a higher temperature, and thick white smoke at a lower tempteraure. Thus, I thought it best to have something that burns hot to produce a clean smoke and then cools the smoke before letting it hit the food. That's why I was...
Folks,
I have one of the PB 700-series models. I tried cold-smoking cheese this weekend with my 12" AMNTS, and I was disappointed with the thick, white smoke it produced and the bitter, acrid, chemical taste of the cheese after smoking. I have vacuum sealed the cheese and plan to let it mellow...
@donpachuco The unit really is great, I have no problems whatsoever with it, except for my initial connection to the BBQ Go app. It has largely replaced my ThermoPro TP-08S as my go-to. I love the Inkbird.
@duke_meister I think you misunderstand the issue. The unit's instructions clearly...
Well, I finally downloaded another app called easyBBQ. It's clearly a very slightly modified version of the same app that is BBQ Go. Which is the chicken and which is the egg? Are they both eggs of some other chicken? Anyway, the easyBBQ ap connected right away. And BBQ Go would also connect...
Update upon eating leftovers:
I only used one Habenero per whole 5.5 lb chicken. This amount provided a nice, well-balanced heat, but flavor didn't penetrate the breast well. Still, bites of the breast meat can be mopped against the skin or plate to pick up the marinade and get plenty of...
Wow, I just noticed that the BBQ go app was last updated November 11, 2018. I sure hope they are planning to maintain it, or replace it with something better!
@TNJAKE Ah, thank you! I didn't see that plus sign. Now, I just need to meet someone named Lisa so that I can cook her a steak.
This will make the unit much more useful. I got this unit to try and "decode" my pellet cooker. I want to know where the hot and cold spots are, and what the temp...
Okay, I got it to work!
Here is how I did it:
I downloaded a different app for my phone, called EasyBBQ. This app appears to have the same interface as BBQ Go. In fact, there are a ton of BBQ thermometer apps on the Google Play Store that appear to basically be clones of one another, but they...
Well, @smokerjim, I do have wireless speakers throughout the house that have bluetooth active all the time. I could unplug them all, but even if I do that, my phone (at least) can still detect active Bluetooth devices from my neighbors. If I step outside, then my phone detects active bluetooth...
