I think its a great thing to try. There will always be room for improvement in my opinion. I was able to pretty much set it and forget it on my Davy Crockett.

I had the butcher cut a smaller one in half. Not the best practice I suppose, but I really wanted to do one and I was only feeding my wife and daughter, next time I will definitely do a regular sized one.

2 1/2 lb boston butt on the Davy Crockett with Apple pellets. Finished with Trader Joe's KC Style BBQ sauce. It was fantastic!

Thanks for the input. I found a rolling 3 rack shelving unit to put it on. Looking forward to getting all my tools in one place and moving it with ease. Will post pics when its all together.

Thanks for info, I will look into it. I imagine it would be pretty easy to roll those babies outside if needed.

I have the 12" tube and love it. My first smoker was an electric one, and I did not like the amount of smoke it put out. I simply used the smoker for heat and used the tube for the smoke. Excellent results!
