    First time jerky question

I decided to follow the directions and I did add just alittle teriyaki powder instead of liquid, I’ll see how it goes

    First time jerky question

I guess what I was wanting to do, was something similar to Bears pork loin jerky that is in the jerky forum. I guess I figured I could just use the premixed seasoning from the kit and mix with the liquids instead of getting all the dry ingredients separate.

    First time jerky question

Hi all, I’m wanting to attempt my first batch of jerky this weekend. I picked up a Hi Mountain jerky cure and seasoning kit at a local store. I was wanting to try teriyaki flavor, I just now read the instructions in the kit and see that this is a dry marinade kit. My question for anyone that has...

    Dumb mistake with Boston butt

John, must have been something wrong with them. Smoked them up to 205 unwrapped and then foiled and rested an hour, they completely fell apart on me lol. Seriously, JJ was spot on, they were fine just like the other 2 I smoked with them. I almost tossed them, until I read his comments. Only...

    Dumb mistake with Boston butt

JJ, I got those butts a smokin lol. I washed good, put on a good rub with salt and sugar. They weren’t slimy and no odor. If by chance the meat has bacteria or is bad, is there a certain taste I should look for when tasting it? They sure be smelling good right now. I’ll be taking them up to...

    First attempt at smoked chili

Just tried a bit of it and hands down, best chili I ever ate. Has just the right kiss of smoke. The maple wood added a sweetness to the meat and the onions and peppers were like butter. I will post a better pic later when we dish it out for dinner.

    First attempt at smoked chili

Beautiful fall Friday here in NW Georgia. I figure let’s fire up the smoker and try something new. I put the meat and my veggies on the smoker first. When they were done I assembled everything and put it back on the smoker, going to let it ride for 1-2 hours and see what I get lol.
