Hi all,
I've been using the 3-2-1 method to cook ribs with excellent results. (Basically, smoke for 3 hours, wrap in foil with juice and slow cook for two hours, then unwrap and apply BBQ sauce and cook for another hour.) I normally only use apple juice during the second step, but it occurred...
Hi John, thanks for replying. With the mailbox closed, there are only 3 half inch holes in the front and one slightly smaller one where I took off the flag (a friend actually needed the flag), plus the tiny holes in the bottom for mounting. With the tray inserted, door closed, and top MES vent...
I usually take out the cut of meat, give it a rinse, pat dry and then spice rub right before going in the oven or smoker. When I tried this last time on the grill (with a smoke box full of chips) it came out pretty good, so I think I just need to tweak my airflow in order to max out the...
Awesome, thx tallbm! I am using a dual probe thermometer but it wasn't pictured since this was just the smoke testing phase. It's got a wireless receiver as well, which is super handy. Also I'll have to give your chicken advice a try the next time, that sounds excellent. Cheers~
Hi all,

I only wanted to smoke a couple of chicken breasts and...
Dude, thanks! That's exactly the information I was looking for. I mostly use stainless steel pans with racks so dripping is not a problem. I'll be testing this with a section of pork loin tomorrow!
Hi John, that was very informative, thanks! I've got a Masterbuilt electric and am unsure where would be the best position to place a 5x8 AMNPS. This is a link to Lowe's website that shows the internal layout. Any ideas?
I seasoned it as per the instructions, and hand-washed everything I could. But I see your point, after all it was the very first time in use and additional seasoning time probably wouldn't have hurt. Hopefully I'll get better with repeated usage. I plan on putting this thing through its paces...
I also just bought one of these, one of my sorta-local Lowes had two in stock at $120. Looked it up on Amazon and saw they usually go for around $300! I've been doing a lot of smoking on a gas grill (which works really well, but was crazy inefficient) but I am really new to this whole separate...
