Just for an fyi but dicks sporting goods has lumberjack 20lb bag of pellets for $9.98 on sale rite now. Just picked up 4 bags. I'm in Washington if that makes any difference. Looks like that is the online price also.
I always nuke my pellets before using them in the tray. Sounds like it should work then since my smoker has a built in fan and the pellets that are burning are not creating as big of a flame. Thank you for the responses.
I will give it a try for sure. I have just read that the tube smokers work better when there is a flame that consumes the oxygen, but wasn't sure if the flame from the pellet would make the difference. Thank you for your response!
I have the pitboss 4 series vertical pellet smoker from lowes and would like to add a little more smoke to my cooks. My question is if I add an a maze n tube would it work in my smoker? Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a 5x8 tray i use for my other smoker cold smoking cheese...
Reset the regulator that goes from the tank to the burner. Just google how to reset bbq propane tank regulator and follow the instructions. Should be the same process. I have to do that with mine every so often.
I have 30lb of king salmon that i need to smoke this weekend. I am looking for some suggestions of new brines as i am wanting to try something new this time. Also what is a good ratio of salt that i should use for that much? I usually use mortons. Canning and pickling salt.Or would it be better...
I dont have a picture of mine off hand but here is a picture of what i did. I ordered a chimney exactly like this one from any grill or smoker amd cut a 2 inch hole in top of my smoker and screwed it o the top. Amd there it is more ventilation with a nice baffle for around $20
I added a chimney to the top of my masterbuilt gas smoker for more exhaust and use a cast iron pan for chips and i use chunks with the gas as they smolder sbetter with the gas and dont just burn up like the chips do.
