    HELP, looking for a spice

Looks like Dairy Fresh Foods, the distributor for that spice closed in 2017. Some of their assets were acquired by Lipari Foods. A search of their site doesn't turn up anything for Soul or Soul Seasoning as a product they offer.

    Powdered Eggs

Yeah about 2 weeks into an underway on the sub, the fresh eggs would run out and we'd get the powdered eggs. Luckily the Frank's Redhot didn't spoil so we had plenty of that. They weren't the worst if you got them fresh out of the kitchen, but would start to turn green pretty quick on the hot...

    Owls

As a kid I went x-country skiing with my family at a fairly remote lodge in AK. It was super cold (-20f) that week and very clear. My dad and I went for a midnight ski under the full moon one of the nights and heard an owl. We stopped to listen and he told me to hoot back. That's when the woods...

    Breakfast Sausage

Looks good, I need to make some sausage soon. I like to make uncased brown and serve links from my bulk breakfast sausage too. Squeeze it out of the stuffer into your hand and place link size pieces right onto a baking sheet. Bake them and then into the freezer. Quick to warmup in a pan...

    Goat meat

We had goats on our farm. One was 4, and a wither but got mean. I butchered him shortly after. Cut most of it into roasts, some steaks. And of course saved the backstrap and tenderloin. As old as he was, the meat had a strong flavor. I tried pan frying the tenderloin as floured medallions and...

Attention Breadmakers: Bromide vs. Iodide in processed flour

Bob's Red Mill Organic Unbleached White All Purpose Flour states that it is unbleached and unbromated and it's readily available at most stores.

    BBQ Rebuild

Looks great! I'm most impressed that the lettering by the controls is still there. That's my gripe about the Weber Spirit we have. The natural degreaser I use to wipe down the exterior has taken off all the lettering.

If it wasn't for Bad Luck

That. Worked on a natural gas crew one summer, trenching every single day in and around other buried services. You just have to get off the machine and dig with a shovel. If a job had lots of stuff to dig around the company would send out a vac truck. Those were the easy days. Just wash the...

    Fish Tacos!

Looks killer! What's the sauce/marinade you put on the fish for the tacos?

    Pork Butt Price

KJs (local grocery chain) has pork shoulders for $1.49/lb this week. I'll probably pick up a couple after work tomorrow

    Gemini AI

Yep, I append "Provide Sources" to every ai inquiry I make. And then I go and actually check those sources of the info is important

    GMRS Radio

If you are a vet, most American Legion posts have a Ham Radio Club. It's part of our national defense pillar. Ours is always looking for more moments and is pretty active. They are having a tailgate later this month and doing a foxhunt with some other clubs in our general area.

5 year old dry cured ham

Started reading this and got real interested before I saw the date. Then wondered if you were coming back for a 10 year update. Definitely looking forward to seeing a sliced pic. Did you ever slice it at 5 years?
