My first turkey in the smoker. I have a digital electric smoker. I plan to thaw my frozen turkey, brine it overnight, then rinse and smoke it. Any suggestions on temp setting and timing my frozen bird weighs 11.5 lbs. Thank for any suggestions.
Smoked two whole chickens today. Cherry wood, sweet bbq rub, beer in the water pan. Tasty , moist, and tender. Set the the elrctric smoker for 265 it took anbout 2.5 hours to get chicken up to 165 deg. Rave reviews from my wife and mother in law. Thanks for the advice and help getting started.

Thanks for the information about chips. My smoker came with a tray and and has an side port for easy refill without opening the door. What's the advantage switching to the Amazen tray?
I just purchased a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker.. It's assembled and ready for seasoning.
First question should I smoke with chips or chunks? I cant see where the instr. says anything either way.
2nd question all chips/chunks created equal? Are some brands better than others?
