Ok, Im going to be that guy. Walmarts Expert Grill Hickory and Oak pellets are really good. For $6.88 for a 20 pound bag. There is a bit of dust in the bottom of the bag, but the run a bit hot and consistent. I have tubes for chips and fruitwood pellets.

When I got it home I plugged it in to make sure it had power. This morning I cleaned the pellet dust and grease out of the bottom and set it to 400. No issues there, the fire pot was going pretty good. Success thus far. It still needs an external cleaning and nuts and bolt’s tightening….
...... and I am nt sure of to is a 1sr or 2nd Gen version. Also, i have read that it can be prone to grease fires, has anyone encountered this or any other known issues?

My cousin just got one recently. He is getting used to it , his main go to devices new WSM and a Pitbarrel. From what i see in person at the store and on YT, they look prettying good for the price. I think if i was in the market, it would tops on the list.
My concern, maybe I’m over thinking this one, is that you had a meat shop sell you something that under possible false pretenses.. I’ve been doing meat for over 30 years, I’d be very unhappy if that happened to me.
