I have the same smoker and love it. There is a good amount of air leak through the doors but I have found out its not a big issue. These smokers tend to run hot until you learn more by trial and error.

I have the same smoker... for the price, and after a few mods, I LOVE IT!
I did the same thing you did except my grilling wok is the kind with square holes through out the wok... it does a better job with the ash falling through.
The only other thing i did was bought a square piece of thin...
We decided to have luau this 4th and tried out some kalua pig in the smoker. I purchased a 6lb pork butt w/bone in and seasoned it with hawaiian sea salt.... then wrapped entire butt with banana leaves and placed in foil tray. The finished product is below after smoking for 6 hours at 325 degrees.
