    "Premier" Membership Info Recommendation

Thank you for your post!!!!  I've been meaning to do this, but been too lazy to do the research.  Though I don't post much, I'm on this forum constantly.  Supporting this site is a no-brainer!

Thanks for looking guys. I can honestly say I've never seen another one like her.  It is literally built like a brick s**thouse.  It is unfortunate that we only use it about once a year, but it definately gives us something to look forward to.

It is a great smoker, but unfortunately, it is not mine.  I just help do some of the grunt work.  It belongs to some good friends of mine.  It was built by their father back in the 70's after the original smoker (constructed of wood) burnt down during a turkey smoke.  They have some great photos...

    It's been a few...

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, if it needs to be moved, please do so. I've been off the the site for a few weeks, but for good reason. First, on Nov 20th we had our annual turkey smoke.  This event has been going on for well over 40 years.  Affectionately known as "the smoke". ...

    MES 40 chip tray upgrade

Yeah, once I got home and looked at the loader, it looks pretty straight forward.  Only six spot welds, shouldn't be difficult at all.  Thanks guys.

    priming question

What kind of yeast did you ferment with?  The reason I ask is because of expected final alcohol content.  When I do my cider, I use champagne yeast (final ABV=12-13%).  Once you have a product with that high of alcohol, it is a little trickier to carbonate.  When I prime my bottles, I have to...

    MES 40 chip tray upgrade

I saw on another thread that guys were modding there loader after getting the bigger tray so the chips would be spread out better.  Does anyone know if Masterbuilt has a replacement loader that accommodates the larger tray (even if I would have to purchase it).  Because I would probably screw up...

    MES 30 or 40?

Not only can you smoke a whole slab in the MES 40 without having to cut it, you can smoke about twelve slabs without having to cut them.

What should I buy - Bradley, Cookshack or something else?

I recently picked up the Masterbuilt 40 from Sam's Club ($299).  It works very well.  It is extremely efficient, and you don't have to babysit it.  I also looked at the Bradleys, but didn't like the idea of having to buy their wood pucks.  Cookshacks were out of my price range.  If you do a...
