Wanting to build my own smokehouse using a small wood burner. What temperature can I safely get up to?

Wanting to build a drum smoker but am using a piece of 24” diameter pipe instead of a drum. Looking for plans for the gravity feed section if somebody has a drawing.

here is the new version. i traded the pro 22 for a texas 34. made a new stand for it. i drilled a row of holes with a hole saw to get more heat into the rectec smoker box. i can get the cold smoker within ten degrees of main grill. then i made my own aluminum downdraft for rectec box.

Can't seem to find redicure brand curing salt anywhere. Has anybody found a place to order it.

This is the frame I got. I thought about mounting Leaf springs to bottom of firebox. That might be the way to go instead of buying a trailer.

I have a boat trailer at home I was gonna cut up and do that. Maybe that's the route I should go.

Just about read for a trailer for my reverse flow smoker. With my calculations I should be between 1000 and 1100 pounds. Tractor supply has a sale on 5x8 trailers that have a gvrw of 2000 pounds. Load limit is 1600 pounds. Would this be safe to mount smoker on. What is a good way to balance out...

installed a rectec smoker box on my pro series 22 traeger. havnt got a chance to try it out yet.

My wife found it. It worked perfect.

18 1/2 hours later its finally done. cooked till internal of 160 sat basket and all in aluminum roast pan, covered with for then took internal to 205. came out perfect. that was my first try at it. i can see more in near future. gonna try a brisket next weekend. used about 16 pounds of pellets...

I picked that basket up at Walmart for $7.
