What diameter tube did you use and does the length matter? I was thinking about getting this attachment so i dont have to open and close the door when emptying the ash tray letting heat out.

Hey everyone...Jeff here from CA.  Just wanted to say hi.  I'm not new to smoking but I wanted to join to get a few ideas for my 1st smoker file cabinet build.  I just picked up a free one yesterday.  Seems to be of decent gauge metal.  I just don't know if it'll hold up to the heat of the coals...
