Hey folks. I have this Kingsford Professional Ranchers Steer 41" smoker and so far it's doing good. But I need a little help with some fire management. My brother in law has an Oklahoma Joe and has the same issue.
Here's the scenario: build big fire to get cooker to temp. Have a good sized bed...
Second cook two butts and in about 5 hours I'll toss on a Poor's man's brisket (Chuck roast). Holds temp pretty good. Ribs turned out great on the first cook. Temp gauges are way too high in the chamber but I have a Chugod for actual meat level temps anyway so it's no big deal.
Oh yeah, one more thing. I neglected to say I was able to get it for just less than $300 with my military discount! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!! WOOT WOOOOOOT!!!
Hey everyone! Fairly new on here but have been lurking around reading a lot for quite some time. So today I ran into a HD to purchase some material and discovered they phasing out the Kingsford Professional series of smokers some of them carry. I'd been eyeballing the Rancher XL and the Ranchers...
Dang it. I've been reading and looking for one of these Wranglers. But all the reading I've done is old. So now I see that the new Wranglers are a different model???? The Wrangler 2??? Ugh!!! I want a heavier smoker. Otherwise I'd just buy a OJ.
I've tried to start a thread in the build section. But I keep getting an error. Can someone tell me why? I'm assuming I need to have a minimum thread post count before the moderators will allow me to start a thread. ??
Very nice! I am building one very similar but mine is a stainless steel cabinet. Did you find it really necessary to have the make up air vent in the bottom? Do you think one smoke stack is enough? I purchased two three inch stacks from Smoke Daddy as well as the hopper assembly.
Hey there. New from Canton GA here. Looking forward to lost of learning and reading! Been lurking a while now and this forum seems to be the most informative of all!
