I have used a step ladder to lower the turkey in the pot for the very reasons stated in this thread. A step ladder with a pulley keeps you from getting splattered with hot grease.
Hello to everyone, Im from Michigan and im newer to smoking meat. I currently have a propane smoker that I use mainly for smoking salmon and sometimes some jerky depending on if I get a deer or not. Im looking to upgrade to a better smoker and learning how smoke different types of meats.
