    Increasing draw

It is a brick smoker that I stole the design from a guy on Pinterest. I like the idea of getting the fire off the floor of the firebox and see if the helps Thanks for all the ideas.

I am having trouble maintaining the fire in my firebox. I even added a damper to the door and the only thing that seems to help is just leaving the door open. Any ideas?

    Heat from firebox

My smoker is 2'×2.5×2.5 inside dimensions. The firebox will be about 16"w×24"L×24"h. I haven't insulated anything and the firebox will be approximately 16" away from the smoking area.i live in VA so the weather is relatively mild.

    Heat from firebox

So I'm on the middle of building a concrete smoker. I'm modeling after one I have seen on pintrest and youtube. I'm using a Terra cotta chimney liner to connect my firebox to the smoking area. My question is will I be able to get the smoking area hot enough to effectively smoke pork butts...

    First build concrete smoker

So I should line the firebox with firebrick? I'm trying to get my hands on some old red brick from a chimney or fireplace to build the firebox. Then I was planning on using a Terra cotta flue to feed the smoking/cooking area.

    First build concrete smoker

I'm in the process of putting my first block smoker together. I'm trying to do it as least expensive as possible. I'm trying to figure out what the best type of lid for the cooking area could be used. Also what is the best way of installing a damper on a Terra cotta liner from the firebox?

    New from RVA

So I'm new to this I've tried smoking before and then gave it up. But now I'm attempting to build my own smoker. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    First build

So I am attempting to build my first cinder block smoker. I'm trying to build it as inexpensive as possible. My next step is building the firebox. I have seen several lined with firebrick but those are kind of expensive. My question is if I'm able to get my hands on some solid core red bricks...
