    You said it in your last sentence. It isn't a problem. It's a smoker, not a pressure cooker. Negligible heat loss through door leaks. I cooked on a Char Broil offset for 15 years. Never sealed the door. If anything, since it was so small, the small leaks probably helped temperature control.

    I made great brisket on a Char Broil cheap offset. I make great brisket on my Bell Fab. No modifications needed.

    Why seal it? It isn't a pressure cooker. If it is built correctly otherwise, it will cook just fine if a bit of smoke leaks out of the lid.

    I guess none of you ever travel outside your own time zone. Man, the consternation over this every 6 months is always comical. And, it seems the most people who want the time to stay one or the other are the people who are less affected by daylight variations across winter and summer.
