It weighs 5.5 pounds. Bone In. Thigh. Probably going to keep it as a roast and slice to eat. I have applewood. 225 sounds right. How long am I looking at 5-6 hrs? And any rub that is particularly good?
I was given a Boar leg and want to smoke it in a couple weeks. I have the Chargriller Duo with the firebox. I was thinking about doing a rub and using applewood. Say 225 degrees. But for how long. Any suggestions?
I smoke a chicken about every two weeks. First I brine mine for 3 days. Take it out and dry it in the fridge for another day. I cook my bird at 215 degrees and I use about 3 chunks of applewood with lumpcoal. Take about 4-6 hours. I like a longer smoke.

Thanks Timber and others. So should I use applewood with very little charcoal or use charcoal and primary source of heat (I have a firebox). and sprinkle the applwood like I would Hickory?
With Charcoal that is a ton for a 7 hour job or so.
