    Smoker Cover Issue

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up ordering a couple of semi-custom shade cloth tarps. Figured I could attach them at the top and if needed, I could use some tent poles to hold up the bottom for added shade. Once we end up moving in a few years, I’ll build something more permanent.

    Smoker Cover Issue

Thanks for the quick responses! We’re planning on moving in a couple of years, so I don’t want to invest in any type of a more permanent structure until then. The cover I have is from Lonestar Grillz. I bought it with my smoker. It’s very heavy duty and still in great shape (just fading). I...

    Smoker Cover Issue

Hello all! I have a nice heavy duty cover on my offset. I keep it on when the smoker isn’t being used. The problem is that the AZ sun is starting to take its toll. I thought about putting up some sun shade on the sides of the canopy, but the frame is lightweight aluminum and we get some hefty...

    Any Az peeps here?

Hello! I’m here in Sun City. We buy our meats from Costco and Al’s Butcher shop. We do buy quite a bit of chicken from Fry’s when they have a good sale.

New guy trying to figure out wood

Do you use their fire management basket? I have it and when I preheat a split, they immediately light every time. The basket is great for keeping the coals hot and lit, and the fire contained.

20x42 offset stick lone star grillz smoker

Where’s the pics?! I have their 24 x 48 and love it! I can’t remember on the max temp, but I keep mine (or try too, which can be hard during the summer in AZ) under 300.

    Dinner for grandma

My grandma turns 99 this year and she is in town for a few weeks. She likes my ribs so I made dinner for her tonight. Had a hard time keeping the smoker temp down, but was worth it! Pasta salad , and a spicy one for me!

    Charcoal S baskets?

I have the 24 x 48 LSG. It loves to run around 250-275 with a split about every 45 minutes. I almost ordered the charcoal basket it, but when I watched the YouTube videos about it, I thought it might be a waste of money. I may still order it to give it a shot.

    New LSG!

Way back in April I ordered a 24 x 48 offset from Lonestar Grillz. Well, it finally arrived last week! Of course it was 108 that day and I couldn’t get it uncrated until the heat of the day. Nevertheless, it arrived in great shape, I got it uncrated, then moved to its new home. I seasoned it...

Should I cover an offset smoker? How do I protect it? Do I need to?

I just received my LSG 24 x 48 offset and I ordered the cover for it. Theirs is made by Sunbrella and come with a warranty. Like radioguy said, you could try a boat shop for a nice custom cover. A cover will be a lot easier to take on and off than a tarp…I currently have mine covered with a...
