I’m with you on the face of the Sun! I’m from Oregon and the heat during the summer here should be illegal! Haha
We plan to move north to the Camp Verde / Cottonwood area in the next 5 years or so.
Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up ordering a couple of semi-custom shade cloth tarps. Figured I could attach them at the top and if needed, I could use some tent poles to hold up the bottom for added shade.
Once we end up moving in a few years, I’ll build something more permanent.
Thanks for the quick responses!
We’re planning on moving in a couple of years, so I don’t want to invest in any type of a more permanent structure until then.
The cover I have is from Lonestar Grillz. I bought it with my smoker. It’s very heavy duty and still in great shape (just fading). I...
Hello all!
I have a nice heavy duty cover on my offset. I keep it on when the smoker isn’t being used. The problem is that the AZ sun is starting to take its toll.

My grandma turns 99 this year and she is in town for a few weeks. She likes my ribs so I made dinner for her tonight.
Had a hard time keeping the smoker temp down, but was worth it!
Pasta salad , and a spicy one for me!
I have the 24 x 48 LSG. It loves to run around 250-275 with a split about every 45 minutes. I almost ordered the charcoal basket it, but when I watched the YouTube videos about it, I thought it might be a waste of money. I may still order it to give it a shot.
Way back in April I ordered a 24 x 48 offset from Lonestar Grillz. Well, it finally arrived last week!
Of course it was 108 that day and I couldn’t get it uncrated until the heat of the day.
Nevertheless, it arrived in great shape, I got it uncrated, then moved to its new home.
I seasoned it...
