    beer can burgers on steroids

I tried beer can burgers a while back. I loved them but I really wanted more stuff inside. I decided to increase the size to a small bowl size. I used a quart glass jar. to form the hamburger around. I got some thin sliced bacon to wrap the burger. I made one with pizza flavor, and the...

    Large Burger press

All of the burger presses are around 4 1/2 inch. By the time the meat shrinks the burger is smaller than most buns. Some where on the Forums here someone suggested a making one out of PVC pipe. I bought a 5" PVC coupler for $15, a handle for $11, and I found a scrap piece of Corian ( I...

    Question about heat element placement.

I totally agree, I have a fridge smoker with a 220v stove top element. It is plenty to heat up the fridge. I have a external mailbox for smoke source. I did try putting in a Tube smoker (AMNTS) inside, and it was hard to keep the AMNTS lit with the tube above the element, I have never had...

    Cold smokers

I agree with SmokinEdge, the A-Maze-N smokers are great for cold smoking. I get about a 5-7 degree increase from ambient temps. I prefer the the tube smokers. I use them both in the Yoder and my Fridge smoker.

    Pellet smoker advice

I bought a YS640 on May 1 of this year. I already had a Fridge smoker that I built. The fridge smoker does good on those nice long slow smokes. Although it didn't cook the skin on chicken legs well, or get the bacon cooked crispy on bacon wrapped items. I also wanted to retire my 20+ year...

Looking for reviews on different Pellets

I use the 100% apple, but lumberjack is going to phase out the 100% and go with apple blend. I have 5 different lumberjack pellets I buy and mix my own blends depending on what I am cooking. Fortunately I only use the Apple now and then and usually mix with cherry. I ordered 120# of 100%...

    100% Mesquite Pellets

I order a pallet of lumberjack pellets a couple of weeks ago and was very disappointed that I couldn't get the 100% mesquite. Apple is also going that direction. They still had the a100% apple in stock for now. I also believe the 100% pecan has been discontinued. I was a sad day, when I...

    Storing bags of pellets

I also do the same thing as zaibatsu and k9bigdog. I have 5 buckets for different types of lumber jack woods, and the one bucket just for mixing for the pellet smoker. I also have another bucket for brining. I love the screw on lids. They have a rubber seal. It is quick and easy to open...

    Looking for a pellet smoker

I just purchased a Yoder YS-640 May 1st. It has been a fun journey the last month. I already have a fridge smoker, that does well at slow long cooks, but does not do a great job at finishing things wrapped in bacon, or chicken. I wanted a smoker to add to the equipment that could do some...
