I used the Rustoleum High Heat spray paint. The paint is rated at up to 1200 degrees, and with a prepped surface, I don't think it will have any issues.
I haven't done a full smoke yet, but it held up well when I seasoned it. I don't know if I will have a chance to smoke anything before my Thanksgiving turkeys, but I will let you know when run it.
