My daughter brought me a turkey breast to smoke for her. It’s an 8 pounder, and it already has an added hickory smoke flavor. Is it wise to smoke it with hickory chips, or will it end up being too much hickory flavor?

Hi there and welcome!
It sounds like this turkey breast may already be cooked. If so give it a taste and see if it could use some more smoke.
If it is raw then cut a piece and throw it in a skillet and do the taste test.

If it has plenty of smoke flavor then hickory may be too much. If not then add as much smoke as you think will give you the flavor you like :)
