I have a few ??? for all you folks that do your own seasoning blends.
    How do you store it?
If i want to ship a taste of it to some of my smoking friends ,What is the best way to package and ship?
Are minced onions , garlic , bell peppers better to start w/ than the powders?
I've never had reason to make my own but since my favorite seasoning Co. went out of buissiness i will have to try to duplicate it.
    Thanks for the help!

I made several and finally found one that we really enjoy. I keep mine in the fridge or even the freezer from time to time depending upon space...keeps the humidity from getting to it and making it clump. in terms of shipping you could just double bag it in a ziploc and ship it I think. Maybe in a mail pouch such as a priority shipping envelope so that it had a little more structure.

Bob i keep all my q spice in the freezer. Seems to keep well that way. As far as shipping a few days in the mail I dont think will hurt. Just either zip lock double bag and send in padded pouch envelope.

there are many rubs I make and keep in spice jars that sit next to the salt pepper-smittys,etc I think last count was 7 shakers that are used on a regular bases-when I make I make in bulk-even chili powders, bulk being a couple cups worth-I store my spices and rubs in a extra long food saver bag so I can cut take what I need and re seal-as far as shipping a couple small zip locks work great.

I just did a marketing sample of our pinto bean seasoning, and packaged it in 2.5 oz plastic jars. I mailed them in bubble envelopes (padded manila envelopes). Sent samples all over the county, and there were no problems. I, like some of the others, keep my spices in the freezer.

My Spice lady tells me to put it in plastic and store in the freezer. Works for me
