As long as the parchment paper is designed to handle the heat, like the type you would put cookies on, there shouldn't be any issues.
 
As I understand having seen this brought up and then reading about it; butcher paper is fine. You don't want waxed paper. Unless you did some thing to your MES the highest temp setting is 275 <I got one as well> and I suspect it's safe. I can't see it starting on fire, thats for sure.
