Hi, guys. My name is Edenilson, I'm living in El Salvador right now and have always wanted to try smoking meats but didn't know how to go about it. Finally, after studiously reading your posts, I got some metal junk together and welded a small smoker (I will post the built details and more pictures soon). I fired it last Saturday and it seemed to maintain its temperature at 225F with just a little wood, so I will give it a try with some meat soon. Any improvement suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

Welcome to SMF, Edenilson. Nice to have you with us. your smoker looks very interesting, kind of looks like a repurposed propane tank. And yes, we would love to see more pics of your smoker. Sign up of the free 5 day eCourse. Lots of great tips and ideas to be found there.

Enjoy!

Welcome Edenilson!

Where in El Salvador are you living?

I stayed in a small village outside of Usulután for a few weeks several years ago.

Take a look around here and make sure you check out the 5 day ecourse.

I'm living in Santa Ana (North of Usulutan) because the climate is a little cooler. The city is smaller than San Salvador though its the second largest in the country, very colonial and friendly. Let me know if you are interested in coming back to visit, I would be happy to help.
Cheers,
EQ

Welcome To Your New Addiction

I'd love to come back at some point. I went down to visit a friend of mine's family when we were in college. It was an eye-opening trip.

The country has been greatly modernized with brand new roads, communications and other infrastructure focused on attracting tourists. The police force is highly trained and helpful, though you hear a lot about gang violence which mostly happens between the rivals. The country is definitely an up-and-coming tourist spot, without the crowds so far. Cheers.

Welcome to the SMF, just keep reading the different forums, you'll be up to speed in no time. it's all good my friend.
