Anyone going to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival?
Bourbon being a white liquor, aged in brand new, charred, white oak barrels, for several years - I felt it appropriate for here.
It is a foodie event for sure. BBQ served (and we can critique it)
Music dished out and of course, Bourbon and Cigars.
It is a wonderful family week long event and we go every year for food and fun.
They always have some kind of great new (to me) food to discover. One year, we met the Garlic Bourbon Jelly guy. Then one year we met Kenny, the Cajun Popcorn guy (he sold out or quit now), then one year we met the Smoked Bourbon Paprika and Pepper guy.
Here is his Cheese Ball recipe (I only met this guy, I don't know him, but he has great cheese balls - can you smoke 'em too?) - this is a link to the recipe that is posted on my land blog - I hope this is kosher. I can post it here if you'd like separately.
