We are o most to the point of firing up the rf smoker that me and my dad built. My question is how does everyone season their smoker build. I plan on sandblasting the tank and trailer. Then should i paint or season first. Any help would be great!!!!

I would paint then season no use in getting oils on your clean metal.

I rinse out the cooker then build a fire in her and dry her out I run the cooker between 300° and 325°. Once she is dry I lightly spray the inside of the cooking chamber and grates with Pam. Let her run for a few hours like this then I usually throw on 10 lb. to 20 lb. of seasoned leg quarters to finish off the seasoning.

I hope this helps. :)
