South Louisiana-Yes, it is HOT
I volunteer every year to help out with the Local Annual Firefighters Association Boston Butt Fundraiser. This year we cooked 500 Boston Butts. We used 3 pits, one 18' X 3' dia. reverse flow stick burner pit that can cook 96 butts at one time. The other two are propane box cookers that can each hold about 120 butts. Burned through 1.5 cords of wood. This is the 9th year of the cook out for the fire station and they sold out during pre-order this year. The fundraiser is for expenses not covered by the city like coffee, creamer and such along with gatorade and water when they need it for when the dive team has a long day on the water. Also use the fund when a fireman needs a new pair of boots long before the city replacement schedule comes due. But the main use of the funds is for firefighter training for new recruits. Was a long hot 2 days and nights, but we got it done. I'm beat!

Great fundraiser.  Outstanding reason to smoke meat.  Any pics?
Sorry, no pics.

1. I forgot my camera.

2. I was way too busy to think about taking any pics...

I will say this- that big reverse flow on the trailer was impressive....had a 4X2X6 ft. fire box and  the exhaust vent was 12" pipe.
