I'm new to smokers. My college age kids gave me a Masterbuilt gas wide vertical smoker for Fathers day. name is Mike Live in the Finger Lakes region of western New York. Smoked for the first time Fathers Day. Never got rave reviews like I did that day, Chicken, sausage, pork chops and Rib Roast. All came out great. Noe I just need to learn what I'm doing.

Welcome to the group. Sounds like a good start, now you can play with different rubs and kinds of wood to get flavor ideas. It doesn't hurt to write do things you try. That way you can tweek them or not use if it didn't come out just right. Good luck and keep smoking.
