Need to cold smoke some eggs for a tater salad so decided to fire up the mini cold smoker.

Pretty simple. 3" dryer duct. A few PVC parts and some duct tape at the joints. I didn't glue the PVC as I find it easier to screw the threaded adapter into the valve and leave the rest duct taped to the vent.

I also have a 1" adapter for the UDS.

Ok, don't know a lot on cold smoking so ya just wanna pick a cool day then.... right ?? Sorry, that probably sounds like a weird question... Just wanna start venturing into cold smoking at some point here shortly .....

Thanks

It's 64 here today. Kind of depends on what you are cold smoking. Raw meats and fish you need to keep the smokers below 40. Hard boiled eggs and cheese it's best to keep the smoker below 70. Same goes for cold smoking bacon I like it to be around 60.

Thanks for the info ds, I really appreciate it..... I'am for sure making notes !! Can't wait to see how them eggs turn out....

Thanks again

Did you or do you need to remove the paint from inside the mailbox? Nice set up!

The mailbox I bought didn't have any paint in it, except the on the door. I took my small torch and burned that off. If there was paint inside I would've burnt it off. But that's just me. Probably would be fine. I do know that the paint on the outside of the box where I light the tube is coming off. Lots of heat there!

Hey Case, was gonna do a mod with an old Bradley cabinet & mailbox..... Is the dryer vent hose 3" ok from mod to smoker or does it need taken from 3" to the smaller 1" to do it properly ? Thx

I think I know what you are saying. At the mail box end, think just like normal smoker, airflow! So bigger hole. I really think the same for the inlet into the smoker. If the mini wasn't so small.. Into the GOSM it's the full 3" from mailbox to smoker.
