I put 2 Chuckies on the Weber Kettle grill today for a slow ride. I put a water pan in the middle and am burning the coal using the minion method. I have chunks of red oak every few inches. I guess I had the beginning a little too close to the end because it jumped about 3". Even lit at both ends the water pan is keeping the temps reasonable around 230°.
To go off topic, we are having some logging done in our woods so my brother and I went out to see what was going on. Here are a few pictures.
There is an honest 36" of snow but these tracks on the forwarder don't even slow down. There is processor set up the same but I didn't see it today. The ground must froze or these machines will tear things up and hinder new growth. This heavy snow this year worked out good for us as the tracks don't even touch the ground. They just ride on top of the snow pack.
The deer are hurting for food because of the snow and are now eating all the tops. They don't leave at all and hardly stop chewing when they are looking back at me.
Chuckies are foiled at 160 and still on the grill.
