New MES 30 2nd generation

Welcome! First off, you should roll on over to Roll Call and give us an introduction. Your level of experience (there is no wrong answer) and you r equipment and where you are from.  We like to know our neighbors.  

Now on to your question.  It depends on what you are using it for.  If you are cold smoking you can set it in the bottom of your unit and just let it do its thang.  If you are 'adding smoke' the unit while you are smoking you will need to do some research and read up on what has worked for others. There seems to be a lot of folks that have the MES 30" here so I am sure one of them can be more specific with the info you need.
