Smoking Documentation/Logs

The log created by TulsaJeff is a fantastic printed-paper log you can store in a 'SmokeBook' notebook, just print out and 3-hole punch!

However, for those of us (I am probably the only one, lol!) who cannot write or have difficulty with writing, it would take me longer to fill out the log than to do the entire smoke, lol!

So, I am giving links to one (of many, but this is what I use) electronic documentation method to record your smokes, snag other recipes, save documentations, etc.; however you wish to use it.  The program is called Evernote.  It, along with a few addon programs, can create a powerful method to save all your info.

First, the programs:

The main program is Evernote.  It can be found at www.evernote.com .  It is free, not a trial version, with most things activated.  You can sign up for a larger-capacity version, but for the start, the free version works just fine.

Then, there are a few addon programs I have found very useful, 1st is Evernote Web Clipper, to be able to capture articles, pages, selections, etc. into Evernote; available here:

Next, is a more selective version of the above, called Screenpresso for Evernote, which can do screen grabs; very handy, and available here:

And, lastly, I also use a little free .jpg viewer, Irfanview.exe, available here:

Now, there are many many other programs that could be useful to you also, these are just the basic ones I use all the time to be able to snag and move information into Evernote to log and store.  A good example, I will create a post on SMF about a smoke I did, then capture it using Web Clipper and put into an Evernote and store it in a notebook for that kind of smoke.  I'll snag other posts.  Or, I'll do a screen grab of part of a post from someone else, just the relavent information on one part of the screen.  I can edit, enlarge, copy and paste items to notes through Irfanview too.

Check it out as some tools you can use, and all of them are free to use!
