Found a 16lbs packer on sale for 1.88/lb at the local wally world so I couldn't pass that by. Even though i never done one before. Did lots of reading from you fine folks here and I don't know why I waited so long. That thing was delicious. I had to cut it in half to fit inside my smoker. Rubbed half in plowboys and the other half in 3eyes. I bought butchers injection but forgot to put it in (another long story I leave alone).
Trimmed and got it started about 9:30 at night a it reached 160deg at about 10:30 the next morning. Wrapped and back in. Turned out pretty good. Little dry but im definitely not complaining. Can't wait to find another on sale.
Oh yeah and the point went into burnt ends. That was dinner.
