Who likes the McRib sandwich from McDonald's?

  1. I love them and was thinking that I should make a McRib fatty.  Two rib shaped pork patties, with tater tots or rounds and cheese sandwiched between them, all wrapped in bacon, smoked for 3-4 hours.  Cover with BBQ sauce when finished.  Anyone else think this sounds good or am I just making stuff up in my head?
  2. Tried one and just about lost my lunch from the day before.

    To much fat and sugar.

    What you described as making sounds delicious. Homemade is always best.


  3. hahaha.  I think the McRib is an acquired taste.  I thought about perhaps some boneless country style ribs, and slicing them in two and doing this. 
  4. I wouldn't use a McCrib. That's all the stuff they scrape off the floor at the slaughter house then press it in a mold. At least it taste that way anyway.

    Never tried the McRib but what you are describing sounds delish!!  don't forget the pictures!!!!

    LOL---I used to love them, and they were just about the only thing other than their fries that I liked from Mickey-Ds.

    I haven't seen them advertised for awhile now.

    They seem to come & go in this area.

    The McRib is the most disgusting, processed, insulting thing one could ever ingest. And I run to McD's and get one every time they bring them back. THEY ROCK!!!!

    As for the McRib fatty, give it a try and let us know how it turns out. Sounds really good.

    i'll admit, i love the things - they come to town about once a year for a month. most recently they arrived late last week and i had two of the damn things before i realized it.

    i usually get tired of them after the first week or two, but like the old widow said when she looked back on her honeymoon, "oh, what a week!"

    We have a place here called chicken city that sell them straight from tyson in bulk 10lb bags .They allso  sell mc nuggets and buger king  chicken nuggets.All they sell is in bulk bags.

    I had one when they came around in  the spring, hadn't had one for 20+ years, so I thought it was okay, I will probably have another, they are nationwide this time, apparently the first time ever for that, I guess they were regional before.

    I guess with a bit of ground pork and some binders like egg and bread crumbs or something, you could make your own McRib sammies.

    McRib Pork Patty

    Pork, water, salt, dextrose, preservatives (citric acid, BHA, TBHQ).


    McRib Bun

    Enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), water, yeast, high fructose corn syrup, contains 2% or less of the following: salt, corn meal, wheat gluten, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oils, dextrose, sugar, malted barley flour, cultured wheat flour, calcium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, soy flour, dough conditioners (sodium stearoyl lactylate, datem, ascorbic acid, azodicarbonamide, mono- and diglycerides, ethoxylated mono- and diglycerides, monocalcium phosphate, enzymes, guar gum, calcium peroxide), calcium propionate (preservative), soy lecithin.

    McRib Sauce

    Water, high fructose corn syrup, tomato paste, distilled vinegar, molasses, natural smoke flavor (plant source), food starch-modified, salt, sugar, spices, soybean oil, xanthan gum, onion powder, garlic powder, chili pepper, sodium benzoate (preservative), caramel color, beet powder.


    Pickle Slices

    Cucumbers, water, distilled vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, alum, potassium sorbate (preservative), natural flavors (plant source), polysorbate 80, extractives of turmeric (color).


    Slivered Onions

  18. Well, gotta tell ya.. I was at a mountain bike race this fall, and they where given away stuff... one of the prizes, you had to guess how many days old a McDonald's Cheese burger had been sitting in a car. So, the visual was, a cheeseburger that looked like it had sat

    for a day or 2, No mold, no sign of deterioration etc. stuff like that. So, I guessed 31 days and won!


    Eat Mikey "D"s and your perserved for life. LMFAO!  Mc rib is my Control source of the perfect rib and sauce, can I ever compete with that? LOL...

    The McRib is OK, but there are variants from the grocery store that IMO are much better, and for about 1/5 the price per patty. Although I must confess I had the McD version Wednesday after I heard it was back. Not bad, the sauce is good, but it seems watered down. 

    The fatty idea is intriguing! If it turns out I want some Q-view!
