Decided to smoke 6 racks of untrimmed pork spare ribs from Sam's club yesterday. I work from home on Wednesday's so this might be a common occurrence. Anyhow, I trimmed and rubbed the night prior with Stubb's rib rub. used lumpwood charcoal and pecan wood chunks for the first time, pretty good combo. I usually use kingsford briquettes and hickory or mesquite wood chips. I smoked at 250 on the Brinkmann Gourmet for 5 hours spraying every 30-45 minutes with a Jim Bean/Cranberry juice mix. The pic below is right at 5 hours, after pic I brushed with some sauce and let cook another 20 minutes. The trimmings were placed in a slowcooker at 7am with some tomato soup, garlic, soy/worchestershire sauce and pepper. They came out pretty good as well.

Forgot to add, there was no smoke ring because all the meat was the color of the smoke ring.

Now those are some great looking VERY BIG ribs that you have there Lucc. Now next time you post some Qview please make them smaller.

Sorry about that, I resized pic.

Next time I'll take more pics too, this was a weak qview but ribs were very good.

We ate them just like that, BBQ sauce on the side for anyone who wanted.

Yum, those look delicious!  I made some spare ribs the other day but I had to bake them unfortunately.  Tasty but not smoker tasty.  How do you like Stubb's rib rub?

The only store bought brand I use, I'm going to have to make a large container of my own because it's getting pricey everytime I have to buy some Stubb's.
